This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which ones we use on the SecurityBot website and dashboard (the "Site"), why we use them, and how you can control them.
We deliberately use as few cookies as possible. This policy is intended to be read alongside our Privacy Policy. Capitalized terms defined in the Privacy Policy or the Terms of Service have the same meaning here.
Cookies are small text files that your browser stores on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They help a website remember your actions and preferences over time. Similar technologies include local storage and browser caches.
The Site uses a minimal number of cookies and browser storage technologies:
| Name / Type | Purpose | Duration | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
connect.sid (session cookie) |
Keeps you authenticated while using the dashboard and portal. Strictly necessary. | Session / 7 days | Exempt from consent (ePrivacy Directive, Art. 5(3)) |
securitybot_consent |
Remembers your cookie choice when you use the consent banner. | 24 months | Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) |
| Local storage preferences | Remembers basic UI preferences (such as theme) on your device. Not sent to our servers. | Until cleared | Legitimate interest / user preference |
aclib (ad/tracking script from acscdn.com) |
Displays advertising on the Site. Disabled by default and loaded only after you choose "Accept all" in the consent banner. | While browsing | Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and ePrivacy Directive) |
We do not use cookies for profiling, remarketing, or cross-site tracking, and we never sell your data. Advertising/tracking scripts are only activated after you give explicit consent and can be refused at any time.
When you first visit the Site, a cookie-consent banner appears. You can choose:
Consent is freely given and can be withdrawn at any time. To change your choice, clear the securitybot_consent cookie in your browser (the banner will be shown again), or delete the cookies set by this Site entirely. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
Some features of the Site rely on third-party services that may set their own cookies or process technical identifiers, governed by their own policies:
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. In most browsers you can:
How to do this depends on your browser. Consult the help menu of your browser or visit aboutcookies.org for general guidance.
Deleting the session cookie will log you out of the dashboard. Because session cookies are strictly necessary, they are exempt from consent requirements under the ePrivacy Directive.
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date shown at the top of this page reflects the latest version. Continued use of the Site after any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
